Day 1 ~ Arrival / Kuching City Tour 15 Days 14 Nights

Upon your arrival at the airport, your guide will meet you. Then, you will be transferred to your chosen hotel in Kuching town center. After checking in and refreshing, your guide will take you on a city tour.

First, you’ll visit the Sarawak Museum and Cat Museum. Next, you will see the “Giant Cat Statue” and the Heroes’ Monuments. After that, explore the mosque with five golden domes, the oldest Chinese temple, and the uniquely designed Catholic church.

Later, stroll through China Town, the Old Main Bazaars, and the Old Colonial Buildings. Then, enjoy the Kuching Waterfront and Heroes Memorial Park.

Finally, you will visit Sarawak’s Pottery Factory, Bird’s Nest Processing Factory, and Sarawak Craft Pavilion. At the end of the day, you’ll return to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to enjoy your own activities.

Day 2 ~ Bako National Park.

Meet your guide at the hotel lobby by 08:00 hours. After a 30-minute drive from Kuching, you’ll arrive at a Malay village built on stilts over the river. From there, enjoy a 25-minute boat ride along the South China Sea coast. The boat will take you to a coastal park with sandy beaches, marked trails, and stunning cliffs with unique rock formations.

Bako is the oldest park in Sarawak and the best for wildlife viewing. You may spot long-tail macaques, silver-leaf monkeys, monitor lizards, and bearded pigs. The park is also home to the rare proboscis monkey. Additionally, you’ll see beautiful beaches and fascinating rock formations.

At 15:00 hours, take the boat back to the mainland. Your guide will then transfer you to your hotel. You will have the rest of the day free for your own activities.

Day 3 ~ Kuching / Miri / Mulu

Your flight from Kuching to Miri departs at 07:00 hours. To catch your flight, you will transfer from your hotel by 05:30 hours. The flight takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive, our representative will meet you and help with checking in your luggage and boarding pass for your Mulu flight.

Afterward, you will transfer to Miri town center. There, you can enjoy a light refreshment or explore the town. Later, you will be transferred back to the airport for your 14:25 hours flight to Mulu. The flight will take around 30 minutes.

At Mulu airport, your guide will meet you. They will transfer you to your chosen accommodation. Your guide will give a briefing, and then you will have the rest of the day free for your own activities.

Day 4 ~ Mulu Day 2 15 Days 14 Nights

After breakfast, we will leave by longboat at 08:30 hours, heading toward the Clearwater River’s source. Our first stop is the Batu Bungan Penan Settlement. Here, you can explore the settlement and see handmade crafts like baskets, bangles, and mats made by the Penan tribe.

Next, we will travel by boat to the Winds of the Cave. The cave features unique calcite formations, including tall, slender stalagmites in King’s Room. A short boat ride upriver brings us to Clearwater Cave. You will climb 200 steps to reach the main entrance, where you can explore Lady’s Cave and the underground river. Afterward, enjoy swimming or a picnic at Clearwater Spring.

We’ll return to the lodge for lunch. Then, we transfer to Mulu Park Headquarters and take a plank walk to visit Deer Cave, one of the world’s largest cave passages. Nearby, visit Lang’s Cave, a small but beautiful cave. In the evening, we’ll watch thousands of bats emerge from Deer Cave. Afterward, we return to the lodge for dinner. The rest of the day is free for your own activities

Day 5 ~ Mulu / Kota Kinabalu

In the morning, you can enjoy free time for your own activities. Alternatively, ask your guide for suggestions on what to do. After lunch, we will transfer you to Mulu airport for your 15:20 flight to Kota Kinabalu. The flight lasts about 2 hours.

Upon arrival in Kota Kinabalu, your guide will meet you at the airport. Then, you will be transferred to your preferred hotel in the town center. After check-in, your guide will give a briefing about your Sabah sector tour. Once the briefing is complete, you will have the rest of the day free for your own activities.

Day 6 ~ Kota Kinabalu / Usukan Cove

From Kota Kinabalu, the journey to Usukan Cove takes about one and a half hours. Along the way, you’ll pass beautiful sights of the Kota Belud countryside. You’ll see endless paddy fields, rolling hills, and rustic wooden village houses. In the background, Mount Kinabalu stands majestically.

For those seeking adventure, you can dive or snorkel to explore the stunning coral reefs and marine life. Alternatively, you can kayak around the island and enjoy a self-guided tour.

In the evening, relax and stay overnight at the Usukan Beach Lodge.

Day 7 ~ Usukan Cove / Kinabalu Park & Poring

After breakfast, we will head to Kinabalu Park Headquarters, home to the majestic Mount Kinabalu. Our first stop is the Botanical Garden, where you’ll see a variety of plants, such as orchids, rhododendrons, ferns, pitcher plants, and kerosene trees. At 11:00 hours, a park ranger will guide you and introduce the unique flora and fauna, many of which are found only in Borneo.

Next, we will take a 1.5-hour jungle walk near the Park HQ. This walk offers the chance to learn about the Montane Forest and its rich ecosystem. After the trek, we’ll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

Later, we will travel 42 km to Poring, which means “bamboo” in the local dialect. In Poring, we’ll trek through a forest filled with wild fruit trees, giant bamboos, and ginger plants. Additionally, you’ll also walk on the jungle-canopy walkway, which is 40 meters above the ground.

Relax in outdoor tubs with hot or cold mineral water. For those who wish, there’s an option to visit the Butterfly Farm or take a short jungle trail. Finally, at 16:30 hours, we will transfer you back to your hotel in Kundasang.

Day 8 ~ Kundasang / Sandakan City Tour / Sepilok 15 Days 14 Nights

Furthermore, we will depart for Sepilok at 08:00 hours. The drive will take about 6 hours, passing through local villages and palm oil estates. Along the way, we’ll stop for toilet breaks and refreshments. This gives you a chance to observe local life and learn from the community.

Our first stop will be the World War II Memorial Park, known for the Sandakan Death March. The marches led to the deaths of over 3,600 Indonesian laborers and 2,400 Allied prisoners. Next, we’ll visit the Puu Jih Shih Buddhist Temple on a hilltop above Tanah Merah. From here, you can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of Sandakan Bay.

We’ll then visit the Agnes Keith House, a restored heritage site that offers insight into life in British North Borneo. Nearby, explore Kampung Buli Sim Sim, a water village with traditional wooden houses perched above the sea.

Finally, we’ll check in at Sepilok Jungle Resort, located near the Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre. The rest of the day is free for your own activities.

Day 9 ~ Sepilok / Kinabatangan

Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre for the 10:00 feeding. The park ranger’s call may attract other animals, like macaques. However, visitors must avoid contact with any apes. The Centre began as a project in 1961, proposed by PF Burgess, Deputy Conservator of Forests in North Borneo.

At 11:00, a 20-minute video about the nursery will be shown. Afterward, we’ll transfer you to a nearby restaurant for lunch.

Next, we’ll depart for Bilit, Kinabatangan, about a 1 hour and 45-minute drive through local villages and palm oil estates. When we reach the jetty, you’ll take a quick 3-minute boat ride to your lodge. Afterward, enjoy some free time before your 16:00 afternoon boat cruise. On the cruise, you’ll search for wildlife that has inhabited this area for decades.

After the cruise, we’ll serve traditional local cuisine for dinner. You can then choose to join a night jungle walk or relax at the lodge, listening to the sounds of nature.

Day 10 ~ Kinabatangan Day 2 15 Days 14 Nights

Furthermore, wake up early to the sounds of gibbons and birds, starting your day with a river cruise at 6:00 AM. The cruise lasts about one hour, giving you a peaceful view of the wildlife. Afterward, return to the lodge for breakfast to recharge.

In the late morning, join a guided jungle walk through the riverine forest to Danau Bilit (Ox-Bow Lakes). During this walk, you may spot wildlife and meet the “bloodsuckers”—leeches. Stay calm and listen to the many fascinating sounds of the jungle.

By noon, return to the lodge for lunch. Then, enjoy free time to relax before your second afternoon boat cruise. Afterward, head back to the lodge for a delicious dinner.

End your day by relaxing at the Kinabatangan Lodge, where you will stay overnight and rest for another exciting adventure ahead.

Day 11 ~ Kinabatangan / Tabin Wildlife.

We will travel overland to Lahad Datu, heading towards the Tabin Wildlife Reserve. The journey takes about 4 hours, passing both paved and gravel roads. Upon arrival, check into the charming timber lodge at Tabin Wildlife Resort, nestled beside the Lipad River. The area is home to a variety of birds, insects, and small mammals, which you can spot even near the resort.

In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Lipad mud volcano, known for being a mineral salt lick for wildlife. After a 20-minute trek through the rainforest, we’ll reach the bare area of the mud volcano, where animals and birds frequently visit. Look for animal tracks as you explore. Then, climb the observation tower for a panoramic view of the mud volcano and the lush surrounding forest, where you can often spot birds.

After dinner, we’ll enjoy a presentation about Tabin’s natural wonders. Later, we’ll go on a night walk to search for nocturnal wildlife and birds before returning for the night at the lodge.

Day 12 ~ Tabin / Semporna

Moving on, wake up to the lively sounds of wildlife. As well, you can choose to join an early morning bird walk to discover some of Tabin’s rich birdlife, with nearly 300 species. Afterward, enjoy a hearty breakfast.

Then, we’ll trek through the lush rainforest, famous for its rich diversity of plants and animals. We’ll visit the Lipad Waterfall, where you can take a refreshing dip in the natural pool and enjoy a shower beneath the waterfall.

After lunch, we will head to Semporna, about a 4-hour drive. The name “Semporna” means “place of rest,” given after the British defeated the Bajau resistance in the mid-1880s.

Upon arrival, you’ll check in at your chosen hotel. The rest of the day is free, allowing you to relax or explore at your own pace.

Day 13 ~ Semporna / Mabul Island

Moreover, Mabul is a small island located off the southeastern coast of Sabah, Malaysia. Thereafter, it became famous due to its close proximity to Sipadan Island. In recent years, Mabul has gained recognition as one of the top “muck diving” spots in the world. The island is oval-shaped, surrounded by sandy beaches, and sits on the northwest corner of a large reef. This reef covers two square kilometers and is home to a rich variety of small marine life.

Then, we will depart for Mabul Island by boat around 10:00 AM. The boat ride will take about 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the weather and sea conditions. We should arrive at Mabul Island by 11:00 AM. Once we arrive, we will begin with a briefing, followed by registration and check-in. Afterward, enjoy a delicious lunch, served at noon, while taking in the island’s stunning beauty.

Day 14 ~ Mabul Island Day 2. 15 Days 14 Nights

For your reference, Mabul Island is located just 20 minutes north of Sipadan Island. It sits on the Borneo shelf before the ocean floor drops to around 800 meters. Known in diving magazines, Mabul attracts macro photographers looking for rare marine creatures. Also, the island is home to a small fishing village, along with several dive resorts and smaller lodges.

Diving at Mabul offers unique opportunities to capture rare species in the underwater world. The island is one of the richest destinations for small, exotic marine life. Unlike Sipadan, Mabul provides a different diving experience.

You can either dive at Sipadan or simply relax at the resort’s pool, which overlooks the beach. Either way, you will enjoy breathtaking views and peaceful surroundings. In the evening, unwind at Mabul Resort, your accommodation for the night.

Day 15 ~ Mabul Island / Tawau Airport

Free & Easy till your boat schedule at 1130 hours back to Semporna town. Thereafter, you transfer to Tawau airport for your flight to Kota Kinabalu @ ETD 1710 hours. End of Tour.
