Day 1 ~ Mari-Mari Culture Village Tours
First, when you arrive, your guide will meet you at the airport with a warm welcome. Then, you will go to your hotel. After that, enjoy free time until 16:45 before starting your Borneo Heritage Trip 2D1N.
Next, get ready for an exciting visit to Mari Mari Cultural Village. This village is deep in a quiet forest in Kionsom, Inanam. Even though it is only 35 minutes from the city, it feels like a different world. Here, your Borneo Heritage Trip 2D1N takes you back in time to explore Sabah’s rich culture.
Once you arrive, your friendly guide will take you on a tour. First, learn about different traditional houses. Then, step inside small village huts to see how people lived long ago.
After that, watch skilled artisans at work. See how they make blowpipes, which people once used for hunting. Next, enjoy a live fire-starting show using bamboo. This is an important survival skill.
Moreover, explore the art of tattoo-making. Learn the hidden meanings behind the designs. Later, taste delicious Sabahan food prepared by different ethnic groups.
Finally, after a fun and interesting day, sit down for a relaxing dinner. Later, your driver will take you back to your hotel. This marks the end of your first day on the Borneo Heritage Trip 2D1N.

Day 2 ~ Kinabalu Park & Poring Borneo Heritage Trip 2D1N
Next, at 08:30, your guide will pick you up from your hotel. Also, we will begin our Borneo Heritage Trip 2D1N with a scenic overland journey through the magnificent Crocker Range. The drive to Kundasang, the foothill of Mount Kinabalu, takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes before reaching your first stop, Pekan Nabalu.
For your reference, historically, Sir Hugh Low used Pekan Nabalu as his base camp during his Mount Kinabalu expedition. Today, it is famous for its local handicrafts and breathtaking mountain views. After spending 30 minutes exploring, we will continue our Borneo Heritage Trip 2D1N at Kinabalu National Park, where all aspiring Mount Kinabalu climbers must register.
Next, we will stop at Timpohon Gate, the official starting point for Mount Kinabalu trekking, and the Park HQ for photo opportunities. For your reference, Poring, meaning “bamboo” in the local dialect, is located 42 km from the park headquarters. Moving on, trek through a hill dipterocarp forest rich in wild fruit trees and wildlife, passing giant bamboos and edible ginger plants.
Afterward, experience the jungle-canopy walkway, suspended 40 meters above the ground (not advisable for those with a fear of heights). Later, unwind in open-air tubs filled with natural hot or cold mineral water. Additionally, visitors can opt to explore the Butterfly Farm or take a short jungle trail for a deeper adventure. Finally, by 16:00, your driver will transfer you back to your hotel or the airport, concluding your Borneo Heritage Trip 2D1N.
