2D1N Sepilok and Kinabatangan River Sandakan (BFF019~Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre & Kinabatangan River Cruise)
Sepilok and Kinabatangan River Tour 2 Days 1 Night
The Sabah Government funded and completed the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre between 1961 and 1964. Consequently, it aims to reintroduce orphaned orangutans into their natural habitat. Upon admission, orangutans undergo a comprehensive health examination, followed by a quarantine period. Subsequently, they learn essential jungle skills in the ‘Nursery’ before transitioning to the ‘Outdoor Nursery’ for increased freedom. As a result, many achieve independence and integrate into the wild orangutan population. Moreover, the center is open daily from 9 am to 12 pm and 2 pm to 4 pm, with extended hours on Fridays from 9 am to 11 am and 2 pm to 4 pm.
