1 Day : Klias Wetland Proboscis Monkey & Fireflies Safari – Klias Mari-Mari Lok Kawi Zoo Kota Kinabalu

First, someone will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. After you check in, you will travel to Klias, a quiet town in the Beaufort area.

Later, when you reach the jetty (small dock), you will listen to a short safety talk. Then, have some snacks and drinks while you wait for the boat.

Soon, your river cruise will begin. On this trip, you will look for wild animals along the river.

Also, one special animal in this area is the proboscis monkey. Additionally, it has a big nose and lives only on the island of Borneo. Besides, you might see it sitting in the trees near the river.

For your reference, Klias is part of the biggest wetland area in Sabah. Also, many types of birds live here. As well, some birds fly from other countries. In addition, you may also see other monkeys, like pig-tailed and long-tailed macaques. Furthermore, you might even see the silver leaf monkey or water buffaloes near the river.

Next, as the boat moves, enjoy the quiet and the beautiful view. As well, the sunset over the river is a great time to take photos.

Later, after the cruise, the boat will take you back to the jetty. If the sky is clear, you may see a lovely show — fireflies lighting up the trees like stars.

Dinner: Served on the jetty before returning to Kota Kinabalu. Stay overnight at Kota Kinabalu Hotel.

2 Day : Mari-Mari Cultural Village Tour – Klias Mari-Mari Lok Kawi Zoo Kota Kinabalu

Firstly, today, you will go to Mari-Mari Cultural Village. For your reference, this is a short trip where you can see how people in Sabah lived in the past.

Also, you will learn how to cook using bamboo, make fire without a lighter, and use a blowpipe to hunt. Next, after breakfast, someone will pick you up from your hotel. The village is only 25 minutes away from the city.

Thereafter, in the afternoon, when you arrive, you will feel like you are stepping into the past. Then, you will see old-style houses, watch how people lived long ago, and learn about their customs. Besides, the local people will welcome you into their homes. Later, you will meet people from different groups in Sabah and learn about their culture.

What You Can Do There:

• Visit small huts where people show how they lived before

• Watch how a blowpipe is made and used

• See how to make fire using bamboo

• Learn about old tattoos and what they mean

• Try jumping on the Lansaran (a fun, springy wooden floor)

You will also get to try local food and drinks, like Montoku (rice wine), and see how food is cooked inside bamboo.

At the end of the visit, enjoy a dance show by the villagers. After that, a local meal will be served.

You will stay overnight at your hotel in Kota Kinabalu.

3 Day : Lok Kawi Wildlife Adventure – Klias Mari-Mari Lok Kawi Zoo Kota Kinabalu

First of all, today, you will see some special animals. These include:

• Sumatran rhinoceros

• Proboscis monkeys

• Malayan tigers

• Orangutans

• Borneo pygmy elephants

• Hornbill birds

Then, you will also visit a Herbal and Ginger Garden. Also, in the garden, you can see many plants. Moreover, if you’re lucky, you might see the pitcher plant. Additionally, it’s a plant that catches bugs.

Later, after the visit, you will go back to your hotel.

Stay overnight at your hotel in Kota Kinabalu.
