Culture Nature Adventure  – 6 Days 5 Night

Day 1 ~ Arrival Kota Kinabalu

       You be meet upon your arrival at Kota Kinabalu airport thereafter you be transfer to your choice of hotel. Rest of the day free at own activities.

Day 2 ~ Kota Kinabalu / Labuan / Limbang

      You be meet at your hotel lobby by 0715 hours and transfer to the wharf for your 2 hours 45 minutes boat to Labuan. Arriving at Labuan, our representative will arrange your boat ticket to Limbang ( an approximately 2 hours boat journey ) which depart at 1400 hours. You may have the opportunity to have lunch or simply stroll around Labuan town famous for tax free branded items. Arriving Limbang, your nature guide will be waiting and bring you to Purnama hotel for your overnight stay. Free at leisure till 1830 hours where your guide will meet you at the hotel lobby and bring you for dinner at a local restaurant. After dinner, you be brief for your next day programme.

Day 3 ~ Limbang / Kuala Mendalam (Iban Longhouse)

        Meet your guide at the hotel lobby by 1230 hours and transfer to Mendamit village, a 45 minutes drive, thereafter you be taking a local longboat to Kuala Mendalam~Iban longhouse. The boat cruise will take about an hour passing local settlement along the river bank. You be staying overnight at the longhouse with one of the Iban families where you have the opportunity to learn their beliefs and way of life. Sleeping with basic mattress, pillow, blanket and mosquito net, you be appreciating the lifestyle that you are having. Meals will be arrange by the families, so be prepare to have a change of culture shock.

Day 4 ~ Kuala Mendalam / HeadHunters Trail / Camp 5

      After breakfast, by 0730 hours, we depart for Kuala Terikan by longboat, passing through few others Iban longhouse and untouched nature. The boat journey will take an approximately 4 to 5 hours (depending on water level), thereafter stop at designated place for lunch before reaching Kuala Terikan where your starting point to trek to camp 5. The trek will take another 4 hours going through swamp and thick bushes, not to mention leeches. These will be the highlights of the day. Arriving at camp 5, you may cleanup and relax while your guide will prepare your dinner. You may have an option to do a night walk with your guide (compulsory to avoid astray) searching for night crawler that is active in the evening. Basic place to sleep at camp 5 for your jungle experience.

Day 5 ~ Camp 5 / Deer & Lang Cave / Benarat Inn

       By 0800 hours, we depart for Long Lutut, an estimate 3 hours trekking, where a longboat will be waiting to bring you to Mulu. Lunch will be provided at Benarat Inn, a simple accommodation where you be staying overnight. Simply relax until at 1430 hours you be transfer to the park headquarters for your exploration of Deer Cave & Lang Cave the largest cave passage in the world. The enormous chambers of Deer Cave are home to over 32 million bats! At dusk we witness the amazing spectacle of these creatures emerging from the gaping mouth of the cave, as they head out into the forest in search of food. Return back to your lodge in late evening.

Day 6 ~ Benarat Inn / ClearWater & Wind Cave / Miri

       After breakfast we depart by longboat at 0830hrs to the source of the Clearwater River. We first stop at Batu Bungan Penan Settlement for a short excursion of the settlement. You are able to see the handmade handicraft like baskets, bangles, mats by the Penan tribe. From there we go by boat to visit WINDS OF THE CAVE with unusual calcite formations, including the tall, slender stalagmites in King’s Room. Just a few hundred meters upriver lay CLEARWATER CAVE where you have to climb 200 steps to the cave’s main entrance; visit the Lady’s Cave and the underground river. The pool at Clearwater Spring is a nice place to swim and picnic. After lunch we go by boat to Mulu airport to take our flight on MH3254 ETD 1540hrs to Miri. You be meet at the airport and transfer to your choice of hotel.
