General Information

The Lok Kawi Wildlife Park (zoo) is a collection of Borneo wildlife and animals from other parts of the world. It’s is one way to experience some of Sabah’s animals up close, especially as a family and if you’re not doing anything else that will involve real wildlife.With all the animals being in not-so-large enclosures, sighting them is almost guaranteed, ensuring that you will get a glimpse of Sabah’s and Borneo’s most difficult to spot jungle creatures. Lok Kawi Wildlife Park showcases endangered animals such as the Bornean Elephant, to raise awareness of their plight. Lok Kawi Wildlife Park is one of the best and exciting place to visit especially for educational purpose and leisure time activity. This is because it brings us closer to nature and give us the awareness to protect the wildlife animals from extinction as the rainforest are being devastated.

Located around the border of the districts of Penampang and Papar, and about 15 kilometres south of the state capital Kota Kinabalu, it has become part of the urban expanse of Kota Kinabalu. It also features one of the few Hindu temples in Kota Kinabalu, the Sri Subramaniyar Temple. Originally a small village, Lok Kawi now features a small industrial estate as well a modern residential development. It is also the site for the Lok Kawi Army Camp (Kem Tentera Lok Kawi) . ➡ ITINERARY

You be meet at your hotel lobby and transfer to the park an estimate of 30 minutes drive. The park consists of two components: zoological and botanical. Among the inhabitants of the zoo (zoological component) are the Borneo Pygmy elephants, Sumatran rhinoceros, Orang Utan, Proboscis monkey, Malayan tiger, as well as some different species of deer. It requires approximately 2 hours to complete the whole venture thereafter you be transfer back to your hotel.
